| Is this an easy way to lose 15 lbs by the beginning of may? |
| May is 2 weeks away. This is not possible and could be dangerous. |
|
That is stupid and dangerous. It would be safer to just cut off a limb.
|
| Do one meal a day at 5 pm, mostly meats and veggies. |
|
If your BMI is more than 35 this won’t kill you as long as you top up electrolytes.
If you weigh 130 and want to weigh 115, as I suspect, this is a stupid idea and you might end up in the hospital. |
| I'd love to see the op even try it for 24 hours. Incredibly stupid idea. |
| Drinking only water or not drinking any water? |
|
I’ve done 4 day water fast before for weight loss and I will share that even though yes, it works for weight loss in the short run (maybe lose 7-8 pounds with a 4 day) that it is really not helpful in the long run.
It completely destabilizes hunger cues and creates intertia for yo-yoing between overeating and restricting. Over half the weight is water weight which then surges back and you bloat if you begin to try and eat more normally. Also, the refeed takes a lot of mindfulness and is not fun. Unless you are doing this for a health reason like autophagy it is just not a great choice I would do a strict detox of foods (clear out ALL dairy, processed foods, carbonated drinks, high sugar, high salt) for about 1 weeks. This will naturally lower inflammation and you will easily lose 5 pounds of water weight. Then I would do a -500 calorie cut per day. You probably won’t get to a 15 pound loss but you could get to 8-10 pounds by early May and you will lose real fat, feel better, not starve yourself, and not have to worry about refeed and all that stuff |
| I love when a troll arrives but people give actual crazy advice. |

I had something really stressful happen to me on a Thursday night and I couldn't eat. By Tuesday I was down 11 pounds.
For reference, based on the perfect women here, I was a 5'6" size 6/7 fatty. |
Drinking only water plus electrolytes |
| Stupid af |
I have done it for 24 hours and I’m the OP. 24 hours without food or water is easy. Eight hours of that is sleep so really 16 hours without food. That’s not that difficult if you’re ill, stressed, sedentary, overweight, or generally well fed and well nourished in the first place but that will not lead to any significant weight loss like an extended 96 hour or more fast. After 4 days is when the magic really begins. Fat loss doesn’t really generate till a couple days into a fast: the initial drop is just water weight. I wanted to know if anyone safely conducted a multiple day fast. For the record, the human body can go 3 without food but only 3 days without water. |
11 pounds in five days?? Care to share exactly what you ate or drank each day? Were you working out as well? 11 pounds over a weekend is excessive amount of weight loss |
I was so stressed even the thought of food made me nauseous. I only drank some water Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon/Tue. I literally could not eat one bite due to the stress. No, I did not exercise as I could barely think. Just pointing out it is possible to lose almost 15 pounds in less than 10 days. Not saying it will stay off or that it's healthy. |
