| For private full pay dd with great rigor and 3.9+ low 1500 SAT? Not metro area but NE. Musical, 1 varsity sport, med research and volunteering. |
I get the impression WashU loves kids from the elite privates (those rejected by the top Ivies). |
They came to our school.college fair, so may be committed to our school? Otherwise ED Northwestern, legacy at Emory so that may be ED2 because really doesn't want south ( despite lots of coaching that it's urban and not untra conservative

WashU wants a LOT of demonstrated interest (even if ED1 or ED2- bc if deferred you will have an "affinity score") - make sure to visit and show a lot of interest (bear chat?).
I think its a solid plan for ED1 with those stats! |
| How is premed going to be different from any other good college? |
How could you know this? DI is brand new coming up next year. No history to make this comment. |
Ask your IEC or CCO. WashU used to track DI a while ago, too, and stopped. Your counseling team should be able to guide you here. |
They claimed in the previous CDS that DI is not considered to make them sound more friendly to underprivileged kids. I’ve always thought they may secretly consider DI anyway. |
If you go to an elite private school. |
They used to count it 4 years ago, then stopped. And now they are again. This isn't rocket science and is something you would know if you'd taken a moment to search (before you accusatorily post as a reflux). https://www.reddit.com/r/ApplyingToCollege/comments/phsofk/washu_no_longer_considering_demonstrated_interest/ Btw, your style is recognizable to all of us - you don't what you're talking about, so sit this one out, grandma. |
Probably the most competitive, since its med school is in the top 3-5 of the country. |
| Is it silly to use ED1 for WashU here versus Emory ED1 legacy? |

I have a friend with a premed there, they are very happy.
I also have a premed at a top school. My best advice is a school where they fit and will be happy, land comfortably in top quarter, and have close access to research, clinical, and shadow opportunities. This will make a long arduous path the least cumbersome and set them up for success. |
If he cant get into WashU ED1, he wont get into Emory ED2. Make sure hes okay with being rejects from all 3. |
You think they are reporting DI doesn’t matter but it really does? 🤦♀️ |
