When do you work out? Morning? Afternoon? Evening?

Anonymous
I have found that I need to wake up early (5:30) in order to consistently get my work outs in. I had been trying to sneak them in during the day in between meetings but find that I will get caught up with something and then it just never happens. My husband works out in the evenings after work.

When do you work out? Are you consistent? I am shooting for at least 5 days a week - every other day cardio/weight lifting.

Morning, for the reasons you mentioned. Get it out of the way before work/family interrupt it.

Mornings is the only way I’m consistent. Other responsibilities like work and kids get in the way if I try during the day.

Mornings. I wake up at 5-5:15 depending on what I am doing. I never thought I would be this person but now that I have built the habit, I look forward to it and I have a much better day for having started it taking some time for me!

OP I am the most recent PP. I would gently suggest that you not start with five days a week. Four or three is still GREAT and will be a lot easier to ease into. Rest is important!

Before I work out? No, I don't. It would make me sick to my stomach. I do drink a big glass of water before and sip from my water bottle throughout, though. I definitely eat after. Usually egg whites (I don't like yolks) and fruit or a yogurt with granola.

What I love about this post is your assumption I work out at all.

This, plus I can only do cardio fasting. If I have eaten anything in the prior 6 or so hours I get horrible reflux. My aim is always every day M-F, often I skip one of those days because of an appt. or early meeting or I am too tired on a Monday. Probably 4 days/week mostly.

I don't work out. I'm physical throughout the day.

Lift five days a week from Saturday to Wednesday. Weekdays after work.

I get it done as soon as I get home from work. With my commute, I'm up at 5:15, leave at 6:20, work 7:30 to 4, home just after 5 and its usually 7-ish by the time I'm done and showered. I usually have one day where I just do 30 mins instead of an hour. Weekends are more flexible obviously.

I am not fit to do much early in the morning apart from guzzling coffee.

DP I do morning workouts and I always eat at least a couple of bites of a banana. I tend to get lightheaded so I have to eat something, I don’t like going on a full stomach though.

Either morning or, on a WFH day, I will sometimes do it right before I get my kids from school. It goes a lot more smoothly if I just get up and do it but I probably get a better workout later in the day.
