Enrolled in a new DCPS (via lottery) a few weeks ago - still not processed?

Anonymous
My daughter is currently at our IB DCPS elementary school. We got a lottery match at a different DCPS elementary school. Using Aspen, as directed, I filled out all the forms, uploaded all the documents, and submitted everything on 3/30. Aspen shows "Returning Student Enrollment - Complete 3/30/2026." I received a confirmation email that says:

"Thank you for your online enrollment submission! Your school's enrollment team will now review your submission. If the school has questions, they will follow up with you directly. Once the school has completed their review, you will receive an email acceptance."

However, it's now been over two weeks and I haven't gotten that email acceptance, and the MSDC application page still says "Match (enrollment pending)." And her brother's preference for that school is still listed at "Sibling Offered."

I'm starting to get a little worried. Is it normal for this to take a while? At what point should I call to check in? I don't want to be a pest, but I also don't want to fine out two days before the deadline (or, yikes, May 2nd) that there was some problem with my paperwork.

When would you call?

Call today and every day until it’s resolved.

OP here.

This feels like... an overreaction? Two weeks to process paperwork isn't absurd. Call every day? I'm hoping to have kids in this school for the next 10 years - I don't want them to hate me before they've even met my oldest kid.

Any one else with a bit more of a tempered approach? Or is there logic to this that I'm missing (like they're supposed to do it within a week so they are way way behind or something)?

In a similar situation I have sent a pleasant email of the “this is just to confirm, please let me know if there’s anything else I need to do” genre.

I’ve found that different schools process enrollments on very different timelines.

You have two weeks to make sure this is done?

We will be at a charter and ours still says Match with enrollment pending too even though I have submitted all forms. I plan to follow up next week since everyone is out for spring break this week.

OP here. This feels like the right path - I think I'll plan to follow up next week as well.

Thanks!
