| Who's to say their parents aren't already incarcerated? |
|
Good luck with that. You have DC prosecutors and judges that believe these teens need to be coddled and nothing they do is their fault.
The only way any will happen is if they are federally charged and even then you can’t trust the judges to hold them or their parents accountable. |
| Sounds like we need more wraparound services to support teens and parents. |
Not possible. |
called re-open juvi and prisons |
| Keep this in mind when voting for mayor. Janeese LG will not be interested in holding anyone accountable for crimes like this. |
|
That's horribly dangerous. Why aren't these kids arrested and put in juvie?
No, I don't think their parents should be arrested. This isn't like buying your mentally perturbed teen a gun and then he shoots up a school. |

There needs to be a juvenile detention camp that is actually focused on rehabilitation and repatterning of behavior, not just parking kids in front of a screen to play GTA. All privileges would be tied to completion of milestones like reading on grade level, conduct and cooperation with others, learning a trade. Locate it out on a mountaintop in WV so running away is not an option. Sending a 14 yo to adult prison just creates a better criminal but the current "wraparound services" model embraced by JLG, Brian Schwalb and the rest of the DC progressives is not working either. |
Couldn’t agree more. Wrap the cuffs around their wrists and put them in a secure facility (prison or juvi) with 24 hour staffing. |
Because the services are insufficiently funded. Ask them about it. |
| No more handouts fund juvi |
Agreed. Throw them in the slammer and let them access their reach around services there. |
Ha! Reach around. |
This is always the progressives' excuse---just throw more and more of other people's money at dysfunctional families without ever considering whether or not that is the best use of funds. No matter what services are provided, unless the juvenile is removed from the environment which has permitted and encouraged the anti-social behavior, the juvenile will be continuing to spend the majority of their time within that environment. If you want to truly modify increasingly off-the rails behavior, you have to radically change the kid's environment. That's what families with means do when their kids are screwing up. |
