| Did anyone see that Truth post? Or the post about Pope Leo? How do you feel about that? Please let us all know. Thanks. |

Not Catholic, but that's gotta be blasphemous (besides being horrific in so many other ways).
FWIW, Theads has a captioning thing going on, where people suggest early 80s album cover names. The winner seems to be "The Grateful He's Dead" with strong showings from "Pedo Christ Superstar", "Flock of Sieg Heils" and "Impeachment and Herb". I'll just leave this here.... https://www.threads.com/@rickbaldwinstudio |
How do you feel about it, OP? |
| The reality is those in Trump's cult will continue excusing this. |
Oh that's hilarious. |
I’m not here to ask about myself. I’d love to hear from others, especially observant Christians, on the issue. Genuinely curious about this issue. Thanks. |
| I know he’s trolling, but that was rude, tacky, blasphemous, and he should apologize, but I doubt he will |
And I am genuinely curious what a non-Christian like you thinks. Thanks. |
Christian from a Christian family. Someone in the family sent this to our group chat today (otherwise I wouldn't know about it because I try to avoid thinking about Trump whenever possible) with the note "I did not have this on my bingo card." That it was blasphemous was implicit - we all expect no better from the guy so it wasn't worth getting worked up over. Since we're devout enough to believe that God punishes sin, somebody will pay for this one. Either Trump does eventually get saved and the wrath for it was poured out on Jesus on the cross, or Trump himself will pay someday. And like Dante, I believe there's a gradient of punishment in hell. |
NP. Oh, just answer the question or shut up. Everything doesn't have to be an argument. OP - The post and picture were typical of the antichrist-like, Trump. That's my answer, and those who support him are typical of whom the bible instructs us to be wary of, and do not be fooled. |
+1. Same! Let us know, OP. |
Not OP, but a non-Christian. I think it's ridiculous in the extreme that Trump is equating himself to either the Son of God or at least one of the most historically significant figures ever (depending on your theological bent). It is not out of character for him, however. His acolytes will excuse this behavior, just as they have everything else. |
| If a word of god produces this kind of visceral reaction in you (Trump), then you are not a Christian. |

As a Catholic, I thought it was offensive, but less offensive than things this administration does every day. Each child that is imprisoned, each small image of God that is locked away and denied basic things like medical care, and safe clean food and water, and an opportunity to attend school or play outside, is a bigger sin than this one. The post in which he threatened genocide in Iran was more alarming than this.
Does it change my view of Trump? I already thought he was evil. So, that didn’t change. But it added to my view that he must have dementia to be doing something like this that has the potential to alienate many people who might have voted for him. If anything it gives me more hope for the midterms. The Pope’s response to Trump has been impressive and has made me like him even more. The cardinals chose well this time. |
