| DS wondering if he should be bringing clubs. He loves golf and the college has a course that's associated somehow and very near (15 min walk). But clubs aren't small and he says he'd "feel like a douche" if he's the only one showing up with golf clubs. But it's kind of his only outdoorsy thing he does. He doesn't run, etc |

I mean if the college has an affiliated course then definitely bring them. Only caveat is if it’s a school in Maine or MN or something where realistically, you will only play a month out of the year.
My kids brought their clubs and play like 5-6 times per year. |

Yes it’s a big frat thing.
DS at Cornell. They play through mid Oct (2 months) and April through mid May (1.5 months)…. Close to 3x a week. |
I took golf as my PE credit at Cornell. Great course. |
| I did when the weather was nice! We had a beautiful golf course on campus. |
| My son does - very rare to actually go to a course as it’s far and expensive, but his friends get out their clubs and putt and chip on green spaces on campus for fun. |

If he is a golfer he will meet others who love the game. Bring them. Golf is a wonderful sport and leads to others with the same mindset.
My doctor husband never played golf. We're were poor he was unfortunately not a golfer. Our sons never played. I think it has hurt them in social situations. |

my son who is a freshman in college just told me last night one of his goals this summer is to learn to play golf. apparently it's a thing and he feels like he's missing out.
so yeah, I think he should bring them. he could just plan on storing them on his half of the room. |
And. But you get my point. A lot of social networking goes on golf courses. |
|
Mine's at Tulane and they play a lot. He doesn't have his own clubs (yet) but several of his friends brought their personal clubs.
|
| some course let you store bags at the course. for a fee, but sometimes it's not much |

Oh great, the good ol' boys. How misogynist.
|
golf and tennis are both pretty co-ed now. |
| Friend's kid at Emory did. |
| better than than sitting around playing video games. I say, take the clubs |
