When do you think Taylor will no longer be superintendent?

I'm guessing his days are numbered by Fall 2027, when regional programs/transportation take effect and the community sees all the pitfalls.

Doubt it will be that soon. This Board does not care, and I have no faith more competent Board members will be elected.

He's terrible but doesn't rise to the level of incompetence of McKnight (so far, he hasn't been caught promoting a serial sexual harasser). They took a long time to fire her (with a payout) so I am guessing Taylor will be here until he chooses not to be.

His contract runs out in two years, so the board could choose not to renew.

He isn't the toxic McKnight, but he is just a big of a problem, in a different way.

I don't see anything wrong with the job he is doing. Why would he be fired?

Making decisions that some people dislike is part and parcel of leadership. If he didn't make anyone unhappy, it would mean that he was avoiding the big decisions.

The thing with top jobs is that almost every decision they are faced with is a tough one. The easy decisions are made at lower levels. If something rises to the superintendent's level it almost by definition is controversial or otherwise difficult.

I think the BOE will keep him. He does their bidding.

He’s destroying a lot of schools with the regional model and hurting kids at schools that aren’t having lots of offerings.

Nobody is forcing him to launch over 100 high school programs with no realistic plan to support or staff them.

MCPS has had such turnover in superintendents that they pretty much have to keep Taylor. Otherwise, it becomes harder to say sup after sup has been terrible. It starts to look like we are the common (terrible to work for) denominator*.

*McKight doesn't count against us because she really was terrible-protecting her sexual predator crony.

Starts to look like? It already does. That ship sailed years ago.

I think the only way he'll leave early is if he gets fed up and quits. But the BOE isn't going to term his contract early.

Now whether they'll renew could be another decision, but we'll have to see what kind of board we have when that time comes.

When Josh Starr left I understand it was because they didn't renew his contract that that was viewed as firing him. I think they will renew unless he screws up more obviously/publicly.

We need a new BOE first

Who cares? It’s not like mcps is going to get anyone any better.

Taylor will be gone as soon as Moran and company complete their mutiny.
