Haven’t dated in almost 20 years and finally am ready again to take the plunge.
Which OLD apps are good for over 50 year old women in the DMV area? Thank you for any advice or guidance you can provide! |
| We met on Match.from and married three years later. Both late 50s. |
OP here. Thank you PP! I was worried the lack of responses meant I was making a mistake for even considering OLD at my age! |

I was on Hinge. I met my wonderful 50 year old boyfriend of 2.5 years. Do zoom calls ASAP. Any app will have some scammers. One guy seemed great, until he started talking about crypto currency and how we could open an account together so he could teach me the ins and outs of crypto. If I had video chatted asap, I would have seen that he used fake pictures.
Good luck and don’t be afraid to tell your friends that you welcome introductions to eligible suitors. |
How old were you when you met ? |

My sister, in a different part of the country, also met her serious/longterm partner on Match. |

OP here. This is great advice. Thank you! |
| I met a great normal guy at 60 on Bumble. Together over a year now. |

OP here. So it looks like so far we have the following recommendations: Match, Hinge, Bumble and aarp 😀
Thank you PPs! |
I was 45 - a month shy of 46, but I have a lot of gray hair, so we probably look the same age. He had dated older women before me, so he wasn’t necessarily looking for someone my age. Good luck again, OP!! Keep us posted. And just know there are a lot of frogs out there. It’s a numbers game. And people join each day, so check back on the apps, if you don’t see matches right away. I liked meeting new people and learning more about myself. My last warning, is to reject people via message. I know it’s best to reject people in person if you’re in an actual relationship. Some guys don’t take it well and get mean. Don’t take it personally. Be glad you dodged a bullet. Be safe! I’ll be wishing you well. |
Thank you PP for all the great advice. I really appreciate it! - OP |
My friend had the same thing happen, but an even more sophisticated scammer. The woman was real, and would video chat if needed. Just she was operating out of some foreign country (he thinks Romania) and of course wanted to get him to join some crypto scam, which he declined. It's amazing how much time the scammers spend to bait the hook, but I guess it pays off. |
| It’s all the same people on every single app. |
