Young Americans are China Maxxing

Anonymous
At first this seems innocuous - younger Americans are showcasing more and more of their adoption of Chinese culture and practices into their daily lives:

But the bigger picture is that China is now winning the culture wars and is gaining significant soft power influence on western youth. America's youth are increasingly disenfranchised by an America characterized by obscene levels of wealth inequality, terrible job prospects, lack of healthcare, unaffordable education and garbage healthcare, being mentally scarred by never ending streams of school shootings, and growing up in an America that is constantly in a state of war and spending trillions abroad rather than on our own citizens. China conveys a sense of stability, level headedness and tremendous growth, and it is increasingly appealing to American youth. How long until we send our best and brightest to China to study, live, and contribute to their economy? A reverse brain drain.

China is winning on every front without needing to fire a single shot. America seems to be self immolating, and American youth are saying no more and want an opt out, or at least an alternative to toxic American culture.

Totally agree just having returned from a trip to Asia and seen how far ahead they are in pretty much every way

This is more about America’s weakness and dysfunction than China’s strength.

There are massive social media influencers like Ishowspeed who go to cities like Chongqing and show young Americans how advanced and high tech China is compared to the US. I has really resonated with American youth who see trains and affordable healthcare everywhere in China, yet experience dilapidated infrastructure and terrible healthcare in the US. Go watch Ishowspeed's trip in China. No wonder why American youth are China maxing.

This.

GOP ceding leadership in technology and renewable energy will be catastrophic for our country.

I’m pretty sure these influencers are being paid.

China pushes trains while American pushes trans. Can’t imagine why people look east for culture.

Well, that and the billionaire and corporate handouts. Even if we were at the top of the technological food chain young people won’t care if they will continue to never see the benefits. No healthcare, no career entry level jobs, no housing, no student loan relief. Now they get a war and a government that wants to further automate their jobs away and take away their rights. I’m surprised that they aren’t burning the country down yet.

That’s typically how influencers work.

Um the anti trans party is the one holding back the US from having renewable energy and better infrastructure. What an absolutely idiotic post ignoring the reality of how Trump and the GOP have absolutely screwed up America in favor of donations from fossil fuel oligarchs. Keep up idiotic posts like this as regular US citizens struggle in Trump's economy, it will only help the GOP lose in 2028 for being ridiculously out of touch with real concerns affecting our lives.

This is about the choices China and the US have made over the past 30 years. China now has an enormous middle and upper middle class. They’ve focused on infrastructure, technology, clean energy, affordable healthcare, education and everything else that’s needed for a thriving middle class.

Meanwhile, the US is running out of control budget deficits to fund tax cuts for the rich. And that’s all the US does. Infrastructure is crumbling. Healthcare is bleak. Education is mediocre at best. Housing costs are insane. New jobs are scarce. We remain all in with oil and gas. And even Hollywood sucks compared to 20 years ago. The US is in free fall because of our very poor choices. We even chose a game show host to be president.

So of course youth are looking elsewhere. The US is depressing.

So you think people are Chinamaxxing because of Trump?

You’re not willing to entertain the idea that cultural rot has gone so deep, many young men feel their own country has it out for them?

Also keep focusing on the next election while missing generational trends, your party can then be in charge when the bottom comes out.

The system of government in this country gives disproportionate power to people who live in rural, undereducated areas who are hostile to progress. Those representatives have given more and more tax cuts to billionaires instead of building middle class wealth. Those people love Trump, but he’s only a symptom. If you want to see American rot, go to where I grew up in West Virginia.
