Do we know where APP is going or where JN went?

I don't know but parents saw them (not too long ago) at one of the SYCs MLS NEXT games.

What are the rules for guest playing with other CCL clubs on non-CCL tournaments-non-CCL showcases?

It’s complicated. Given the shrinking numbers, they’ll do anything they can to lock you in for next season. Probably best to just not guest play for any CCL club.

The rules here are more of an "understanding" between CCL clubs that is actually not enforceable. Basically, clubs aren't supposed to have players out to train or play except for the 2 or 3 week tryout period. In theory, if you left at the end of the season for the team you guested with, your current club would be able to complain to CCL. CCL would do nothing though, other than to talk to the 2 clubs about "best practices."

I think that is true but they really pressure you

So even though the club didn’t field a CCL team in my DD’s age group, we can’t check out other CCL clubs? But we can go check out any of the NCSL teams that we actually did play against? That seems stupid and arbitrary.

sure! no rules against checking out other non-CCL teams

For fully non-CCL you are in the clear. But still, they will pressure you into staying.

I agree but the CCL designation is about the club's membership to the league, not the individual team's. For example, if you went to a filler team in CCL, like PAC, this rule wouldn't apply. NCSL has no such agreement in place, although I think they do have some kind of language in the rules about a coach directly going up to players at games.

Again though, the league and the club couldn't and wouldn't stop you. They've shown that with this whole SYC and LMVSC thing. SYC got membership despite telling everyone that they were just going to bring in LMVSC teams. This isn't about ideals, it's about money.

With the various leagues around (GAL, ECNL, EDP, NCSL), CCL can not afford to lose players from their clubs. The rule is in place but unlikely to be enforced for fear of losing marketshare.

With numerous clubs around, LMVSC cannot afford to continue losing a third of its players for the third year in a row. Although that’ll likely happen again. It’s been a rough season, we are out.

Thanks for sharing this article. A well deserved award for SO. Sad the club fired a man of his caliber as a Director then use the award for promoting clinics.

*losing 1/3 of their members in consecutive years

Please don’t confuse the two.
