GFR Falling apart?

Hey, everything looks easy when someone else is doing it and you think you can do much better. But when it's time to get up and do the work.... not at lot of people are willing to do it. The problem is, when you have money, you think you can buy it and not put in the time to build it and work on it. Let's see if it works if they're actually building (buying) this new club. What's the name of this club?

Went on AI to come up with some names

Lean into the "exclusive" feel (if that's desired, perhaps ironically or to cater to a specific perceived market):

Reston Elite FC

Reston Premier SC

The Reston Academy

Commonwealth United (implying prestige)

Potomac Vista SC (suggests high-end locale)

Focus on the location and a more neutral, strong identity:

Reston Rapids (evokes movement, local geography near water)

Reston United FC

Reston Force

Reston Phoenix (symbolizes rising anew from the previous club)

Heron Ridge FC (Herons are common in Virginia, "Ridge" implies an elevated position)

Choose something that subtly contrasts the previous club's perceived arrogance (if trying to foster a different culture):

Reston Roots FC (focus on community, fundamentals)

Reston Guardians SC (implies protection, stewardship)

Unity Reston FC (highlights togetherness)

As a Reston parent I kindly request you leave our town out of this lol

This stuff - lawsuits and fractioned clubs and greedy coaches - are exactly why many of us opposed this merger with GF almost 10 years ago and now are unfortunately watching it play out

I heard GD is going there which proves anyone can still get a job despite their past shady dealings lol

Someone earlier in thread already named the club from public filing. Nothing “Reston” about it.

hahahhaah.. My apologies :) :D :) I put into AI GFR and Great Falls Reston and I guess it picked up Reston and went with that. You can replace "Reston" to any neighboring town since this new club won't be too far right?

I heard GD is going there which proves anyone can still get a job despite their past shady dealings lol

Is he going to teach little kids? Even if GD leaves, the ECNL status doesn’t follow him so won’t most parents of older kids choose to stay at GFR to stay on ECNL track-since new club can’t use GFR stats and “In order to be considered for acceptance, a club must have existing teams in every ECNL age group (U13, U14, U15, U16, U17, U18/U19).”

Sorry, meant to say I heard he's going to Revolution

Lol - now GFR is going to try to lean into their ‘pathway’ of RL.

An RL pathway is better than none at all.

More just wouldn't think a HSer on a ECNL-RL team would move to a non-ECNL new club for a year so assume new club for the littles and surprised if GD would go. New poster says they meant he’s going to move to revolution. That makes more sense.

If they are smart, they work a deal with Herndon and can play RL on their girls side. Herndon needs the help. NA and GD both don’t like NM, so maybe.

If Herndon, would not want to get any closer to this mess

RL for the moment. Can't believe PA won't move to address that in short order as it is a common complaint.

Agreed. I am sure that's part of why they brought her in. To get done what RS couldn't.

Rich Great Falls parents playing under Capelli Herndon jerseys? Can't see that happening. I can see other clubs
