I’ve been sick for an entire month and I’m desperate

How can I kick this? Help!

It started with something that was very much like Covid, but I never tested positive. Then it either turned into a secondary infection, or I caught another upper respiratory infection, because I’ve been plagued by an over abundance of clear mucus/postnasal drip. It has never been green or yellow, not even a little bit; it’s completely clear. I also have this perpetual wad of phlegm at the back of my throat that I can not dislodge no matter what I try.

Nothing helps. I’ve tried:

Sudafed, Ny/Dayquil, Delsym, Muconex, Claritin (my usual allergy pill), Flonase, sinus rinses.

Nothing touches it. What can I do? I’m desperate.

That is an allergy. Something new in environment or work?

Could be auto immune I guess triggers by illness.

You need to do the Netty pot! You can get them and the salt packs at most drugstores. This will help clear out the mucus and you can do it twice a day. But I would definitely do it.

Have you seen a doctor?

I have (I called it a sinus rinse.) No luck with this. If anything, it makes it worse!

I keep thinking allergy, too, but what typically helps, isn’t. And this is more extreme.

Careful with those, brain eating amoeba is a risk. Saline sterile sprays are safer.

Back when it was at its worst, yes. I tested positive for nothing, and they told me it was likely just a virus. No ear inflammation, nothing in the lungs, no strep.

Look closely at environment for high humidity, new cleaners, new furniture?

That's why you boil the water first.

I’ll be flamed for this but try antibiotics. The last few times I’ve been sick I’ve just taken antibiotics and it has short circuited the illness

Go take Aleve D (behind the counter). It's perfect for this

You have to use distilled water and they are fine.

You don't have to. You can boil the water. Does no one read the instructions anymore?

No, the Nellie are safer but you need distilled water and sterilize the device.

Op needs to see a doctor and they can figure out what infection with a sputum test.
