Black socks constantly fade, white socks constantly stain, what color socks do your kids wear?

I’ve ordered a few pair of gray but I’m not sure I’ve seen anyone wear gray socks - child or adult.

White was great for a period but between clay mud and gym floors for cheer, they stain terribly. I switched to black which fade after a few washes/dries.

What does your household do? What color socks?

All different colors, never black or white. This is for elementary, correct? Unless it was uniform-required, my kid would balk at wearing plain black or white socks. She'd say it was boring.

I’m buying bold colors from now on for the dd. I’m sick of them mixing up with my husband’s socks and having to check for length. They both have colored socks but way more white socks

All three - I have elementary, middle, and HS, but yes, the socks for everyday wear.

At various points, my boys have worn Gold Toe cotton socks. With the Gold Toe stripe. For boys, the sizes have different numbers of stripes by size.

These socks come in greys, denim blues, navy, black, grey argyle, khaki, etc.

These are more for wearing with leather shoes than with sneakers.

My younger son got a batch of mustard brown socks as an experiment. However, these show blue stains from denim dye transfer.

I'm the mom. I wear similar Gold Toe socks for women. Mostly white but I own pastels and darks as well.

Lots of colorful socks from Uniqlo - never black or white. Usually color with a colorful stripe.

Mostly black or gray. I dont have any issues with fade. But i also dont care when the white socks get stained. My sons never wanted colorful socks.

Colorful socks for a while. Now white or black. I am not worried if socks fade or get dirty, they are, well, socks. Most of the time you can’t see them.

White and I use bleach and/or oxyclean. Kids don’t go outside without shoes and our floors at home are clean. After some time, I replace the socks with new ones.

Boy - has black and white Nike basketball socks, wears mostly the white, use bleach

Girl - colorful ankle socks that come in a rainbow of colors - she purposefully wears different colored socks

Me - white ankle socks for working out, for work, black/brown/navy trouser socks with whatever color pants I'm wearing to work

Spouse - C suite exec who thinks it's fun to wear colorful socks, so cat design, fishing, Clemson (nope, didn't attend), his dad keeps buying them for him for Christmas and he keeps wearing them. His workout socks are white, go in with mine and our son's, with bleach

+1. We do this. Socks wear out long before they become dingy.

Black and they do fade, but that doesn't' bother me so much. It is harder to find thin cotton socks that fit well.
The brand we use now is not always available even though it should.
