UMD Accepted Students Day March 7

Anyone else know they registered but not receive any communication about it this week? Facebook parent forum says one student received an email with instructions but others nothing. Should we just show up at 8am?

Last spring, the email with instructions for Accepted Student Day was sent out the day before the event.

Thank you! While nbd for us locally, this is very different than other accepted student days that plan for families that must travel to the event. We are getting a very clear read that UMD isn't trying to encourage families to accept, truly just going through the motions for those who will pick the school anyways.

Anyone has been successful in registering for the April 10 admitted students day event? We only managed to register for the 2-hour information event, but we don't see where to go for registering the April 10 event.

Very frustrating. My daughter went on the day after she was accepted and all slots were filled (for both events). She would love to attend!

This is accurate, they don't try (not on tours, not for admitted students days) because they know that people are clamoring to go there. It's fascinating to compare that with other University System of Maryland campuses that make these events a priority.

UMD significantly favors Early Action (EA) applicants, with reports suggesting up to 95–97% of the incoming class is admitted during the early cycle. There will be another accepted students' day on April 10.

Almost all schools offer accepted students' days in Feb/Mar. Not many are waiting for RD to make decisions.
