| Did your kid get in? Some good kids seem to have been cut |
| It's so competitive. Some good kids definitely don't make it. Try again next year though- some kids who don't make it as a freshman do as a sophomore. |
| Boys and girls soccer are super competitive at WL - good players get cut from both teams every year, even at the JV level. It’s rough and I feel for those kids. |
| How many tried out? |
| Same thing every year. |
| Why in the world do they not have a freshman team!? |
| no one wants to coach it? |
| No field space. JV and V boys and girls soccer and lacrosse all need to share. |
| how many try out? |
Field space is always an issue, but more importantly, it's not funded. APS has decided it won't fund Boys Volleyball which has been a VHSL varsity sport in FCPS, ACPS, etc. If there is available funding I have no doubt sports opportunities would increase. |
No one in Arlington does who would they play? |
No one in Fairfax either. |
| That’s so odd to me. At my high school in Nebraska, all the boys and girls team sports had Freshman teams, and also sophomore teams for the more popular ones. |
Good for you in Nebraska where there's hardly anything other than fields. We live in Arlington. |
It's a shame APS and the county don't coordinate better. There are tons of fields for rec soccer. It's crazy to think they couldn't work in capacity for 3 HSfreshman teams. |
