He seems like the progressive version of Rush Limbaugh. Even if he might have some interesting points I can’t listen to him because I feel like he profits more from a divided country. Like when the Democrats in 2028, he will have to keep a bogey man alive. (We see this from the right wing too.)
Im tired of editorialism of whatever MSNBC/now and Fox News offer. Present the information and don’t tell us how to think. I prefer reading center media outlets — axios, the guardian, the hill, wired, NPR, pbs, occasionally New York Times, and WSJ. They aren’t perfect but better than slanted reporting from others. Anyway, someone suggested Cohen to me and I just … can’t. Anyone else? |

I'm a thousand times more interested in the facts of the matter than the style of any given person relating them. Is he accurate? If not, correct him. If he is, whoop-dee-doo. |

I don't know about BTC but I'm actually tired of hearing the divided country. Half of the country is aiming for people's civil rights and happiness and support and help and the other half is running on bootstraps and regressivism. I don't really care about this divided country canard anymore. Half of the country is on the other side of history and I just don't really care to speak to them anymore

It is absurd that people prefer to stick to the echo chambers that the algorithms have decided for you. By doing so, you are lining the pockets of the left and right wing nut jobs. That’s not getting us anywhere. Just remember the next time you complain about the other side, you are actually making them money to keep going. Good job. /s |

Brian Taylor Cohen has a YT channel with a lot of subscribers and videos.
Yet, a quick search for any of the terms "Gaza", "genocide", "Palestine", "Palestinians", and "Netanyahu" turns up no results in the title. "Israel" comes up with one result. This obviously tells you exactly what is needed to know. Why wouldn't any of his videos have these words in the title? I wouldn't trust anything he says. And no respect if he doesn't have the balls to have an open opinion about the most significant event in America. Don't need to watch 100 hrs of video to see what he thinks. |
| I like BTC, but regarding your point about him profiting from division, the reality is that most of them do. I remember that shortly before the election, David Pakman—an outspoken critic of Trump—admitted that Trump’s victory would actually benefit him financially. |
And when the Dems / progressives win then what? There is no winning for anyone if this persists. United we stand, divided we fall. |
Anyone relying on views relies on conflict. Why not just shout it into an empty canyon, otherwise? But the critical question is whether the information as presented is accurate or not. If it isn't, attack that. If it is, then pick your battles. Of course, you could go the route of trying to discredit someone online by insinuating things and throwing shade on an anonymous forum, but surely none of us have ever seen that. |
I'd never expect someone to say this who was trying to conflate the two parties, or minimize the failure of one side, or anything like that. |
I knew nothing about him until this weekend. I don’t remember hearing his name before. It was hard for me to get through his video. Maybe his info is accurate. Dunno. Came here to find out what others thought. He has a huge following so I figured some DCUMers would be familiar with him. His presentation style was a big turn off to me. It makes me distrustful of the info even if it might be accurate. Not sure if I should bother giving him another go. |
At some point this country needs to come together. What do prefer to do what with the other side??? They exist, so …? What is your ultimate solution? |
What is the answer to the boldfaced? |
Okay. (?) |
My ultimate solution doesn't involve chasing people and begging them not to be dicks, or to listen to reason. That has been an ongoing project for years, and it just doesn't work. I don't know what the answer is, but it has a lot more to do with actually changing the things I can (including some things that benefit people I might not agree with, as it's just the right thing to do), and with leaving people alone. People need to save face. They are more likely to find their own way to that if they aren't being scrutinized and pummeled, and if they have the basic needs of health care, access to food, etc., taken care of. But is listening to MAGA going to change what I do, or move this country forward? No. Will trying to convince them? Obviously not. However, I can leave them be and hope that they find their own way out of the swamp they live in. |
Do your own homework, son. It's not my concern. If you've decided he is not for you, then it doesn't matter anyway. |
