I like BTC, but regarding your point about him profiting from division, the reality is that most of them do. I remember that shortly before the election, David Pakman—an outspoken critic of Trump—admitted that Trump’s victory would actually benefit him financially.
And when the Dems / progressives win then what? There is no winning for anyone if this persists. United we stand, divided we fall.
I'd never expect someone to say this who was trying to conflate the two parties, or minimize the failure of one side, or anything like that.
At some point this country needs to come together. What do prefer to do what with the other side??? They exist, so …? What is your ultimate solution?
My ultimate solution doesn't involve chasing people and begging them not to be dicks, or to listen to reason. That has been an ongoing project for years, and it just doesn't work. I don't know what the answer is, but it has a lot more to do with actually changing the things I can (including some things that benefit people I might not agree with, as it's just the right thing to do), and with leaving people alone. People need to save face. They are more likely to find their own way to that if they aren't being scrutinized and pummeled, and if they have the basic needs of health care, access to food, etc., taken care of. But is listening to MAGA going to change what I do, or move this country forward? No. Will trying to convince them? Obviously not. However, I can leave them be and hope that they find their own way out of the swamp they live in.
