Need simple cotton crewneck sweaters

I’m getting picky and can’t seem to find any good lasting cotton crewneck sweaters. I just need basic that will last for years and preferably in vibrant colors. Any suggestions?

I recently bought some nice plain cotton ones at Ralph Lauren, they are not nearly as expensive as the cashmere or as bulky as the bear/flag sweaters.

These are inexpensive and have a nice high neck, which I love. I have some that are 10-15 years old and still holding up!

I have this Reformation sweater in cashmere and love it. Looks like they just came out with the style in cotton!

I have some from J Crew that I really like, but that said, I'm not sure I would call them "lasting." A couple of years, maybe, if you are washing them regularly.

Don’t you think yours from 10-15 years ago are of a different quality than the crap now?

The quality of clothing from 10, 15, 20 years ago was vastly better. I had pieces from JCrew and LandsEnd that I finally tossed because I was tired of wearing them, but they were in perfectly good shape years later. The clothes today wear out much faster.
