Boss-female-has taken to yelling at me-yes, yelling on zoom at me.
Do I go to HR? |
We need more context - like are you a snowflake who considers yelling a stern voice? My kids accuse me of yelling when I give them the stink eye. Seriously they will say “stop shouting at me” when I haven’t even opened my mouth. |
| Yes. This is unacceptable. |
| yes go to HR and also document. document first |
Just stop screwing up. |
|
Why is she yelling? Or are you not performing and she is just using a stern voice? I find it hard to believe a boss would actually yell on Zoom. Though I can see a frustrated manager raising her voice if you continue to not perform.
Document to prove she is indeed yelling at you. I'm guessing that she is documenting why she is frustrated. |
| You video-record the yelling, and you go to HR to complain. |
I very much hope you get yelled at, and people don't care at all. |
This is illegal in some states and could get the OP fired. |
| Soft |

Somebody reported me for “yelling at her”… they reported it to HR.
There was a record recording of the meeting. It wasn’t yelling. You should record anything that you think is yelling and report it and let them decide. Are you sensitive to women being assertive? |
It’s not illegal because when you’re on a zoom or teams, something pops up and tells you you’re being recorded. |
| Yes. Go to HR unless she apologizes. If you don't fight back, she will think this is acceptable and you will be treated worse. In the meantime, looking for other jobs. |
I believe you yelled based on the bolded text. |

Yelling is unacceptable and should be reported to HR.
For any manager out there, if you are yelling at your subordinates for any reason at all, you are completely ineffective at your job and should be fired. |
