Oahu best place I have ever visited

Just came back from an 8 day trip to Oahu. I have been to many places among others Maldives, Martinique, Seychelles etc. and Oahu is now my #1 on the list of places I have been to

I know I am comparing apples and oranges but Oahu had everything I was looking for namely landscape, beach and hiking all in one place.

I will certainly go back.

I agree. Where did you go exactly? I’ve been to Hawaii 5 times and would go back.

Hawaii is my favorite place in the world, and I’ve been to a lot of places.

Where did you stay? I didn’t like the city/busy vibe of Oahu personally. But we were at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

I stayed at the Hyatt place. I had some Hyatt points and it's couple of minutes walk from the beach. But there are other less busy beaches in Honolulu.

Oahu has a lot besides Waikiki and Honolulu. Glad you saw and enjoyed it!

I’ve only been to Hawaii once so far and I thought Oahu had so much to offer! Gorgeous beaches, rainforest, some faux-city density, relaxed mood. We rented a car so it was easy to explore. I would love to go back but will probably force myself to see a different island if I take another trip to Hawaii.

I stayed at Oahu for 3 weeks with DH and two kids. I loved it. I can retire there if DH agrees.

We were at a lovely apartment close to the beach and I was also doing the shopping, cooking, cleaning, laundry there but I did not mind it at all.

We did so much of exploring, shopping (even went island hopping and also shopped at Costco and the weekly markets), eating so much fresh produce (strawberry papaya), trekking, beach, fishing, water sports, historical places, birdwatching, fish watching, plant watching...

Oahu is perfect. People are perfect. History is amazing (if somewhat heartbreaking), lots to see, lots to experience, amazing food, amazing culture.

OP here. In general I like places that have a lot going on as far as sightseeing and hiking. I have been 4 times to the national parks at Utah a few times.

I love Hawaii too. There is nowhere else quite like it. I prefer some other places to Oahu, but yes, Hawaii takes the cake.

Have you been to Kauai yet??? Or the other Hawaiian islands? Hawaii is our favorite place on the entire planet! So glad you loved Oahu. Keep exploring the other Hawaiian islands too.

,+1. It's underrated as a vacation place because people automatically think Honolulu crowd tourist ext but when you venture into the sightseeing wow
