It's May 1st. How and why did your kid decide on that college/university?

If they hadn't ED or accepted an offer prior to May 1? Was it cost / aid? Distance from home? Program?

it's May 1st??!!!

I think there would be serious problems if they waited until May 1. Unless school extended the date, it’s April 30. After that, probably out of luck.

Duh they decide BY May 1st

Way to completely miss OP’s point.

If your kid was still deciding between options late into the process, how did they finally choose?

You said stupid things, OP. You deserve these responses. It isn’t May 1, is it?

Admitted students days are so helpful.

First, you wait to see what the RD offers are in March - that's still a month away from today.

Then, you lay out the costs and try to narrow down your choices. You book admitted student visits if possible.

Kinda hard to say much more in a vacuum.

Were you able to make it (logistically) to more than one admitted day between April 1 (or whenever most all schools' decisions are out) and the end of April?

Admitted student days usually drive decision one way or another but know more that one person who went with a coin toss.
