Online prescribers of semaglutides

Do all prescribe compounded medications, or do any prescribe Wegovy, Zepbound, etc (or a generic) itself?

If you use a compounded medication, were you concerned about safety?

I’m obese and saw success on Wegovy in the past, but had to stop due to supply issues. Then my insurance changed and it was no longer covered. I’m dipping my toe back in to try again. Thank you in advance for any advice!

I use PlushCare and get a prescription for name brand.

Why not just go back to your provider who originally prescribed for you?

I don't know why anyone would get compounded when you get the real thing for $300/month.

Where are you able to get the real thing for $300 per month? When I was last prescribed it, it was 900+ without insurance.

I paid $350 for 3 months with compounded. No I wasn’t concerned. It was still a US pharmacy.

The market has shifted drastically over the past year.

I have no concern getting compounded Tirz- though my in-person psychiatrist wrote the prescription and recommended the pharmacy. It is $200 per vial that lasts me close to 8 weeks. Whenever I am running low, I call and get it delivered within 24 hours.

I got my semaglutide prescription through hers. It's a compound and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I'm in week 7, still increasing my dose, but I wouldn't say the food noise has decreased as much as I'd hoped and I've only lost about 5 lbs. And I still have a day each week that I feel like shit from side effects. Not sure if I'll continue because the weight loss is not making up for the side effects.

Because with compounded I get a vial for $300-$400 that I can use for months and months and customize my dose weekly as needed.

Go ahead and tell me this is is using the medication differently than intended or that it's dangerous. I'm comfortable with the "risk."

If you do decide to give up on the semaglutide, I recommend trying tirzepatide before giving up on GLP1s all together.

Oh thanks for the suggestion. Do you have a provider you like who prescribes tirzepatide? I'm not as much disappointed about the weight loss, but the food noise just really hasn't changed much and the side effects are horrible.
