The official website for the new high school is now live and has the list of admin. Anyone have any experience with them? Any thoughts?

| Fasick (AP) is moving from Madison. Walker (AP) is moving from Fairfax. West Springfield field is losing its Director of Student Services, Basta. Woodson is losing its Director of Student Activities, Smith. |
| Dana Walker is wonderful. |
Bummer FCPS really has a target on WSHS. They keep pillaging their staff |
The staff applied for the positions. |
Exactly. The PP should be asking themselves why everyone wants to leave WSHS, not blaming FCPS for giving them other opportunities. |
Why would you say everyone wants to leave WSHS? I can see wanting to leave Madison, but not WS. Maybe the positions are closer to the new administrators’ homes, and you get promoted to principal or above within FCPS by working in different environments. |
| Woodson is thrilled that Smith is gone. Good luck with him (he might punch you if you disagree with him). |
| We'll have a chance to meet them on the 24th of February at the Academic nigh. The email they sent out said they were planning monthly community events leading into the opening of the school. |
| I mean, I told y'all there was going to be demand from really good school leaders. I will say I would have laughed so hard if they picked someone from one of the 5 feeder schools. I wonder if they deliberately did not. |
Woodson didn't take much time to scrub him from their website, that's for sure. |
+1. They are beyond lucky to have him. |
There is not a target on WSHS staff, the staff their keep applying for jobs to leave WSHS, therefor FCPS isn't going in and removing people unwillingly from WSHS. People are applying for jobs elsewhere. However, it certainly doesn't mean people are wanting to leave. If they're leaving for better opportunities that's incredibly logical and wise for their careers. If they're leaving for later or even lower jobs elsewhere (outside of a better commute, work/life balance etc) then you'd wonder if WSHS has issues. |
Probably people want these jobs because they live further out to the west (or in Loudoun County). |
It is exciting to open a new school. I imagine that this will be a great team effort and bring enthusiasm to the group. The only fault here is in the roll out by Reid. Firm boundaries would have made a big difference. Hopefully, she does not mess this up farther and goes with the common sense boundary. |
