| kid is debating, looking at both this month, would it ever make sense? |
| For people who don't want to live in Georgia. The dmv had a pretty big Michigan following and lots of alums who want their kids to go there. |
|
One legit reason: If the student is not 100% sure about engineering, picking Michigan might be advisable given how well-roundedly strong the school is, allowing them to pivot to another major that is still strong (except Ross).
Another reason is school spirits. Michigan basketball is at its peak with Dusty May and its football might be getting back on track with Kyle Whittingham after the huge embarassment. Georgia Tech is no contest. |
| we are visiting both soon and will try to write up a good pros/cons from our perspective |
| It's just personal preference. My kid probably would choose Michigan over GT, but only because she loves the Michigan vibe and Ann Arbor, and we have yet to visit GT. |
| My kid chose Georgia Tech over. Depends on your kid. Tour both. Let your kid make the decision. Good luck, |
Georgia Tech is extremely well regarded Nationally as well as Internationally. Vast majory of the students there are from OOS and International. |

UM’s engineering program is just as good as GT. I don’t get where you are going with this.
Engineer (ME) |
No, it's not |
Agreed it's not. But can't go wrong either way. |

| Mich seems more fun while still having good athletics. GT seems like a grind. |
Academics, ha! |
| Mine was in state for Michigan plus with scholarship money it was just smarter financially. We didn’t see a big academic advantage to make GT worth the extra cost |
My kid is a freshman at GT. It's definitely a grind but he is having a lot of fun there and loved this past football season and going to games and the warm weather. Good luck on your decision and congrats on both acceptances!
