What kind of bonuses do they make? In a fairly specialized, technical field?
|
| 20%, but it's stock, not cash. Still taxed as a bonus of course. |
| 20% cash, $35k equity |
Was this supposed to be %? |
| 40-60% of my base pay, plus 15% LTI. |
| 15-25% of base, depending on level at our org |
| I’ve had two in house jobs. At the first, my bonus started at 20% and was up to 35% when I left. At that job, I started with no LTI and got $55,000 in equity by the time I left. Now, my bonus is 30% and my LTI is $70,000. |
I’m not this poster but IME, the equity is a dollar amount, not a percentage. |
| 20% cash + 20% LTI |
| What is LTI? |
Long-term incentive. Bonuses that vest over a period of years. Usually stock but can be cash. |
| Stay away from the insurance industry where you are lucky to get COLA. |
| For those getting cash bonus plus LTI, are you also getting salary increases? At some point does salary tap out? |
Yes, I get annual salary increases. Most years it’s a standard 3% but I’ve gotten bigger bumps as I’ve been promoted. My salary may tap out as far as large increases, but I can’t imagine I would ever stop getting annual 3% adjustments. |
| 10-20% plus equity (depending on the year). |
