I know a number of super-high-stats kids who were nominated candidates and put in for it, but didn't get it in the end. I think they're looking for really exceptional, at least national-level, ECs. If your DC doesn't have those (mind didn't) it's really not worth the time for the application. But you could leave it up to your kid to decide. |
