PV drama?

What’s the drama going on either PV? Looks like the webmaster got canned and is throwing a buddy fit. This message has since been removed but it looks like he left in a fit. Is this why results aren’t being posted or uploaded to SWIMS?

Upcoming Changes
After many years of serving as the PVS webmaster, the PVS board has decided to replace me. I have enjoyed creating and maintaining the website for the PVS community for the last 20+ years. I have added new content over the years to serve the wants and needs of our members.
I am not going away and will still be a presence in Potomac Valley. I can always be contacted at my personal email address.

From what I’ve heard he was very resistant to change and updating the website/migrating it to a new host. The board wanted to do something things and he pushed back.

He definitely when rogue when he posted that message that is now removed.

How will this affect my DD?

Always felt the PV swim website was stuck in 2010s design and layout-wise. Definitely needed a modernization. That said, dedicated volunteers are priceless and if he was donating his time and energy that should be appreciated but maybe he just didn’t have the expertise to keep it updated.

Paid position

The board voted years ago for the website to migrated over to another platform. He was informed of this several times and simply ignored and refused. He refused to give up domain information and more. This was absolutely a paid position and finally the board enforced the change after spending over a year figuring out how to get the domain back.

So guessing the change the past couple days where I can’t get to What’s New or Meets or other sections when on a phone browser, is somehow related to this.

The square button in the upper right here http://pvswim.org looks different on phone now than a couple days ago and now it throws a Java error on phone browser app when you click that button.

The upper right button working on computer right now, just not on phone.

It is a bit dated, but very quick and functional. A lot of other LSCs use TeamUnify which is probably the worst online platform every invented. I really hope PVS isn't moving to TeamUnify (ie GoMotion).

I agree with you on that. And I actually like PVS's site for the most part. It is easy to navigate and tons of information.
