Being popular in most places means, nice, smart, fair to others, good locking, fun to be around.

It does not mean you are high fashion, good looking and a bully. That’s not being “popular”.

This. Would also recommend the ability to turn charm and likeability in and off like a switch, so you can use it to suck up to people with influence but then turn it off in order to abuse those you see below you. Don't want to waste and energy on your lessers, right? Plus what good is social status if you don't flex it to make other people want to kill themselves sometimes, am right?

WTF is social competitiveness? I'm popular and get invited to things and have lots of friends but I have never once viewed that competitively. I don't feel like I won if I'm invited to something and someone else isn't. Who the hell thinks like that?

I think I prefer to treat my social life as un-competitive as possible. Who am I competing with? And why? This sounds too stressful.
