I just took my 4th dose and am losing 1 lb a week. I hoped it would go faster but I wonder if I am overindexing on the need for a minimum number of calories vs. actual hunger?
Anyone else concerned about a min. Calorie amount? Or just eating when hungry even if the amount of food is tiny? |

No
There obviously is no minimum You will eat when hungry |
| I don’t count calories or track food. It’s been the best part of this. I just eat what I want when I’m hungry for the first time in my life. |
+1. But my nutritionist has protein targets for me, which affects what I eat when I'm hungry. |
| I'm on month 7 of Ozempic and I eat barely anything. I lose about 1.5 pounds a week. I don't think I could lose more than that but also I don't want a blockage so I try to eat ruffage. |
Same Most days I don't eat much. Typically 1/2 cup of yogurt with berries and some granola in the AM and then a Factor meal for lunch. Sometimes I will eat dinner/snack/protein bar in the evening. But most of the time I am not even the slightest bit hungry until 9pm or so and I am not eating that late. Some weeks I have lost a pound. Some weeks four pounds. It has averaged to 2 lbs/week over 15 weeks. |
| If you lose more than 1lb a week, your skin will sag more and you might lose hair. 1lb a week is great progress! |
| The faster you lose the more muscle you lose and you do not want to lose muscle. |
Same, and fiber. When I said I eat what I want, it’s all reasonable now. It’s been the best part of the GLP1. I’m not tracking anything and eating when I’m hungry though. I’m not forcing myself to eat to get a minimum amount of calories, which is what I think OP was asking. |
| No minimum. Just eat healthy foods when hungry. |
Except people are becoming malnourished. I think you need to have a plan in place for getting all of your vitamins, minerals, fiber, healthy fat and protein, even if those are reduced portions. |
| I eat when hungry and focus on healthy choices, making sure I have fruit, veggies and protein daily. If I have a heavier dinner (try not to because I don't sleep as well then) I am not hungry until later in the am so i follow those cues. I do not worry about calories whatsoever and losing at a steady, slow pace. |

When I could hardly eat and my doctor had me see a dietician to help me eat enough, she insisted I not ever drop below 900 cal per day. But that was bare minimum. We didn't discuss a max, because I was losing and could barely eat.
But I'm not sure what you mean by "overindexing on the need for a min number of calories." |
| I see a nutritionist and I focus on protein. |
