| I've seen a huge variance in ages of different summer pools' junior coaches. Some pools will pay 12 year olds, others won't pay 12 year olds but will let them volunteer and some will only hire 14+. What does your summer pool do? |
| 15+ |
| Our long-standing rule was 14 and after 9th grade. They started letting rising 9th do it a few seasons ago. |
| 15. They all have to be lifeguard certified. |
| 15. And it's a big deal to be a coach so they are vetted and there is competition. |
This is our pool also. |
| 15 do they can be lifeguard certified. We also have a few younger “volunteer” coaches who don’t get paid. |
| Ours are 15 and like others have to have their lifeguard certification. We have a couple of interns who are not paid. It is very competitive for the positions. |
|
I wish our team was competitive. No one wants to do it. They barely cheer. Barely attend team dinners or team events.
Our coaches suck. Our tea has changed a lot. The good old days are gone. Swim team used to be so much fun but now it’s a chore. |
| 15 |
| Our team has no junior coaches |
| They allow volunteers but usually coaches are 15-16+, except one pool we were at where they made exceptions to the person who ran the pool and swim team and those kids got to do it paid younger. |
| 15 for assistant coaches that get paid. There are a significant number of volunteer junior coaches, I don't know if there is a minimum age for junior coaches, but, it seems to be 12-13. |
All of our assistant coaches are required to be lifeguard certified. Head coach has to have a pool operator license. |
+1 need to be lifeguard certified to teach swim lessons |
