Dear DCUM,

I came to this website because I was struggling. My husband and I are on the fritz and my 16 year old daughter is struggling with quitting vaping. I thought I could come here for community support and instead I was called a “weirdo” by the founder and moderator of this website. If you don’t do everything perfectly, you’re ridiculed. When I stopped being myself and signing my messages I thought the bullying would end. It didn’t. I am a person too, please have some compassion. I’m convinced half of you are trolls, ruining a middle aged lady’s day for fun. This isn’t funny anymore. Stop.

Things are definitely not going well in your life when you are on a first name basis with DCUM. I remember once recoiling in horror when someone referenced a thread I had posted about a particularly disastrous period of my marriage in a totally separate thread. That's when I made the choice: no more posting for awhile. You can do the same, OP!

If you're not a troll, have real issues, and want to avoid being banned, spend some time learning the writing style of legitimate posters.

OP here, I have decided to take a break from DCUM. I'm now seeing a therapist. Don't worry friends, I'll be back by March!

No, it's not a MAGA thing. It's just that he likes certain viewpoints and will shut people down when he doesn't agree. The term "political" can mean a lot more than just national partisan politics.

It means not working. Typically it refers to an appliance or machine as in “My stove on the fritz. A repair person is coming out later to fix it.”

OP didn’t really use it correctly as it was about a relationship and not a device or machine.

That’s honestly an awful thing to say about someone who is clearly have a hard time with mental health, like it’s honestly sickening to me.
