Joshua

Feelings on Joshua? This is DH’s favorite name for our baby boy. We’ve gotten mixed reactions from friends and family when discussing baby names. It’s hard to find names that sound nice with our last name.

Other names we like are Stefan, Noah, Alexander, Cameron, Damien, and Shane.

Joshua is supposedly a common name (especially for my generation), but I’ve never met a Josh in all of my almost 36 years of life. I don’t mind it.

I love it. I really like Stefan too though.

Only if you have the ethnicity to support Stefan.

Josh is a great name OP. It will never go out of style

My version of this is Justin. Never have I ever met a Justin.

I love Stefan. 👏🏻 It’s so much better than Stephen or Stephan.

This is the only thing I associate with the name Stefan is the SNL character played by Bill Hader.

I hate having to guess how Stephen is pronounced when meeting one. Half of them pronounce it like Steven while the other half don’t.

Joshua is great! Cameron would also be fine. Noah is awful. Damien is not great. Stefan is okay. Alexander is ok but bland.

OP stop sharing names with people IRL. Rookie mistake.

There were a TON of Joshua’s and Josh in my HS so it feels very elder millennial to me as a name.

Are you Jewish?

Is Stefan usually pronounced stef-IN or ste-FAHN? I’ve heard both. The kid that I went to school with pronounced it more like stef-IN.

It's a good name, really common in my generation (Millennial) but I haven't met any youngish ones running around.
