Bus transportation from Prince George's (PG) County

Anonymous
Which private schools offer bus transportation from Prince George's County, specifically from the Bowie area?

SSSAS has an extensive bus system that has a Maryland route. You'd have to call the school to get specific information on the exact location of the stops. I believe they plan them around the students that they have riding the bus in any given year. I believe other schools (ACDS, maybe Browne?) use the SSSAS system.

Yes, but the Alexandria area schools have a bus that goes to the Fort Washignton area, and DC-- I don't know if anyone goes as far north as Bowie. What about the Key School in Annapolis?
As the PP said, you can ask. Maybe from DC or Montgomery County schools?

you may be better off looking north for schools - Indian Creek and McDonogh but have extensive bus systems that may cover that area.

Landon has a bus from PG.

Key and St. Anne's in Annapolis have a bus service from near the Target in Bowie, they share the bus and expense. I think Indian Creek may have a bus also.

Both Landon and Holton offer a bus service to and from PG County. Landon every year has a few kids from Bowie enrolled in their school.

Key and St. Anne's both have a bus service as mentioned in an earlier post. Both schools have a good number of PG county students.

OP here - thanks for the responses. This info is quite helpful since I work full time and will need to send my DS on the bus to school. I commute to VA everyday but prefer MD schools if possible. Any other MD or DC schools?

Great thread, I am considering this as well from the Ft. Washington area for my child who will be starting school in a few years. Very interested in any DC or MD schools with transport to/from the Ft. Washington area. I have heard about SSSAS and Burgundy Farms. We are also considering moving from our starter home to a better school district since we can afford more now but there are some fabulous contemporary waterfront homes over here that make us consider just getting another Ft. Wash home.

Not sure, perhaps Browne Academy also now uses the SSSA bus system as well as Burgundy Farm.

Thanks for this thread! I had no idea about this bus route! (I hadn't even considered Landon... I didn't know!)
