Not a fantasy lover but this intrigues me. Weird fetish book. Very long. On page 62.
Anyone else?

I just couldn’t. I tried, but it felt daunting and didn’t draw me in. How about you?

I read the OG fanfic, but I’ve been putting off this one because I’m not in the mood for emotional damage at the moment. What do you mean by “weird fetish book”? Makes me wonder what you’re expecting from this.

I'm not touching anything that comes close to the HP and the nasty TERF who wrote it.

There is so much awesome fantasy out there. We need to leave JKR in a ditch.

It’s not anywhere close to Hp.

Not what I thought you were going to say. Maybe you’re using fetish in a non-sexual way.

I may start this book again soon(ish). I feel bad spending money on it and not actually reading it.

Just from the title I'm guessing this is Draco/Hermione p*rn, right? I've read a bunch of these and I only liked one, the good one. These authors play fast and loose with characters and I don't like the dom/sub thing.

Not at all. This is a dark fantasy. It was one of those fics I could only read once because it was so devastating. Just full ugly crying. It’s not romantic. It’s not sexy. I actually think it’s really weird when people thirst over this main character (although that seems to be a small percentage of people). But yes, people hear fanfic and assume it’s smut. Not this one.

Dnf. I tried. Sent it to my fantasy loving sister. Just way too long.

Oh hon. You don't know anything about this book. It's HP Fan Fiction that was edited for trad publication. Google it.

Yes, the original FF version used their names and was called Manacled.

The person who is insisting this isn't the case just is not informed. This is common knowledge in bookish circles. There was a ton of discussion about whether JKR got paid for this and the other HP fan fics that got trad published last year. There are scores of articles about it, too. Just two:
