Bruce Springsteen just released this very powerful song about the tragedies in Minneapolis. There are no mincing of words and I hope it becomes a rallying song like so many from the 60s/70s. Incredibly, this was made in a very very short period of time.

Full lyrics:
Through the winter’s ice and cold Down Nicollet Avenue A city aflame fought fire and ice ‘Neath an occupier’s boots King Trump’s private army from the DHS Guns belted to their coats Came to Minneapolis to enforce the law Or so their story goes Against smoke and rubber bullets In the dawn’s early light Citizens stood for justice Their voices ringing through the night And there were bloody footprints Where mercy should have stood And two dead left to die on snow-filled streets Alex Pretti and Renee Good Oh our Minneapolis, I hear your voice Singing through the bloody mist We’ll take our stand for this land And the stranger in our midst Here in our home they killed and roamed In the winter of ’26 We’ll remember the names of those who died On the streets of Minneapolis You might also like Streets of Philadelphia Bruce Springsteen BRONX ZOO FREESTYLE J. Cole The Times They Are A-Changin’ Bob Dylan Trump’s federal thugs beat up on His face and his chest Then we heard the gunshots And Alex Pretti lay in the snow, dead Their claim was self defense, sir Just don’t believe your eyes It’s our blood and bones And these whistles and phones Against Miller and Noem’s dirty lies Oh our Minneapolis, I hear your voice Crying through the bloody mist We’ll remember the names of those who died On the streets of Minneapolis Now they say they’re here to uphold the law But they trample on our rights If your skin is black or brown my friend You can be questioned or deported on sight In chants of ICE out now Our city’s heart and soul persists Through broken glass and bloody tears On the streets of Minneapolis Oh our Minneapolis, I hear your voice Singing through the bloody mist Here in our home they killed and roamed In the winter of ’26 We’ll take our stand for this land And the stranger in our midst We’ll remember the names of those who died On the streets of Minneapolis We’ll remember the names of those who died On the streets of Minneapolis |
| This will blow the minds of the MAGA supporters who thought they love Bruce. |
That's the point and I applaud him for making it crystal clear |
It shouldn’t, but there are still ones among them that think Born in the USA is a patriotic MAGA anthem. Is it really that hard to understand the lyrics of songs you’ve heard a thousand times and can sing your sleep? I guess it is. Dang catchy melodies distracting folks from the message. |
Yes, it sounds like it was phoned in. |
| starts slow but certainly builds to something powerful |
|
Keep in mind the guy lives on a 400 acre ranch. And at 76 he's probably not doing the dirty work himself.
He's out there making sure he will always have a steady supply of under-the-table labor. |
|
Ots okay, MAGA
Just sober up Kid Rock and have him write something |
You know, I understand that you get off on hurling “MAGA” at anyone who dares to disagree with you, but it just makes you sound idiotic. You don’t have to be MAGA to think this song is horrible. Grow up. |
You do actually have to be MAGA to think it's horrible if you're commenting on a political discussion forum about a song released 2 hours ago honoring 2 americans killed in the street. |
Only if their minds could even process the crystal clear, imagine the progress that could be made. Sad he had to make a song. He has seen a lot in his lifetime. |
|
Objectively, it's not a great song, but he whipped it out quickly, and I hope it becomes a rallying cry for justice for Good and Pretti.
No justice, no peace. |
Every day....it's crazy to watch |
He loves the uneducated. |
