“Pam Bondi Offers To Pull ICE out of Minneapolis if Voter Files Handed Over”

Anonymous
That’s the headline of a Newsweek article that you find to have a partial or complete log-in wall: https://www.newsweek.com/pam-bondi-ice-minnesota-shooting-tim-walz-letter-voter-files-11413859

Excerpt:
Bondi set out a list of three demands in the letter, including that the Department of Justice be given the state’s voter registration records, that the state repeal the "sanctuary policies," and share its records on Medicaid, and Food and Nutrition Service programs.

The letter has prompted criticism online from Democratic voices.
Senator Chris Murphy, a Connecticut Democrat, wrote on X, "This has never been about safety or immigration. It’s a pretext for Trump to take over elections in swing states."

She doesn't lead ICE. Greg Bobino (who leads BP, part of DHS) said DHS is there until every last violent criminal target is apprehended.

So who is right? Bondy? Or Bobino?

Why wouldn’t they want to turn them over? Are they hiding something?

They should take the offer.

You should write to Minnesota officials with your brilliant take.

States run elections. Why be bullied into handing state property to a group of election deniers?

She wants to remove voters from the rolls. She’s also seeking the voter rolls from Arizona and California. I wonder if Michigan and Pennsylvania turned over their voter data

They should take the offer.

You’re a punk, willing to easily comply. Why do they need people’s privacy data. For what purpose. I hope you are not in charge of anything important that impacts other people.

States suing federal government to prevent turning over voters information as December. They want the information to interfere with the 2026, elections. States need to hold the line.

Voting is not in her legal authority or purview.

Why isn't Trump turning over the Epstein Files? Is he hiding something?

I hope you understand that Trump wants these files in every blue and swing state, to purge rolls and otherwise cause damage to the elections. There is no legal or sane reason the federal government needs these files. Each state conducts their elections. Period. Full stop.

They’ve already got it via the IRS. It’s important to see if voting rules and regs are being enforced. Look at Georgia.

+1 Multiple courts have already ruled on this saying the federal government has no role in elections, which are run by states.

You mean where Trump was going to try to scare up extra votes to cheat the election again?

They did not.

There are Federal voting laws, but it's obvious this is not about that. "We will take our goons if you give us this info" is so pathetically transparent.

But legal purview doesn't matter anymore. ICE doesn't do traffic stops. BP has no business in Charlotte, or Chicago, or Minneapolis. Hegseth has committed war crimes.

Yet here we are. The Trump administration is a free for all.
