Stores without snow gloves and snow shoes yesterday?

Did the stores not stock enough or people were hoarding that too for this bust of a snowstorm?

They always run out of sleds and shovels too. This is not new.

If a storm was predicted a week ago then snow boots would be sold out just like groceries or would have needed to be ordered online for delivery. Most stores don’t keep a back storage of seasonal items and they don’t come in daily shipments like groceries come to a grocery store. These items (like snow boots and sleds) often here come on huge containers from
China or other parts of the world and could take a month or more to arrive.

And you can notice that by Feb, spring clothing and sandals will be out and available to buy. By August all summer things will be on clearance and fall items will be for sale.

You waited until yesterday? That’s a you problem.

This is OP. I was only curious because I listed a pair of mittens and snow boots on marketplace and within an hour I had 10+ requests for both of these. People almost an hour away from where I am were willing to drive for a $10 pair of used snow boots. It seemed insane. The woman first in line who got it said she went to multiple stores and couldn't find them for her kid and was very appreciative.

Who waits till the last minute? Home Depot near me was out of shovels on Wednesday and ice melt on Thursday.

That’s the kind of stuff you should be putting on Buy Nothing.

Glad I didn’t buy a snow blower for this bust snow/sleet event.

Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance
Shame on you for not planning. 🤷‍♂️

Is this on facebook? I always wondered how that works? I want to sell a few things but don't want my friends list people to see them.

They put out that stuff in the fall and before new year's. By now they start thinking spring. A few outdoor clothing stores had a few options in stock last week but we're limited in size. Online may yield more options and is a good way if you know sizing of various brands. Harder to figure out kids boots especially if kids are still growing.

I don't know the size of the items you had, but stores start selling winter stuff often before it's even fall so even if a mom buys her kid a pair of snow boots then, they may no longer fit in late January.
