Saw signs up on the Four Mile Run trail south of Rt 50 heading to Sparrow Pond.
Single sharpshooter, food bait. Be sure to say goodbye to any deer you see. Tell your kids they will be shot and eaten. |
Good. Unchecked deer populations ruin the environment. Would you rather we reintroduce wolves to keep nature in balance? |
| Finally! So much handwringing over nothing. |
Why would anyone say good bye to a random wild animal? Do you say good bye to squirrels too? |
|
OP here. I like seeing wild animals. We do have foxes and coyotes as well as deer, rabbits and squirrels along the trails.
I do greet them. And I will be communicating with the deer. |
|
Hope they get them all. Please. Get them.
I love venison jerky! |
| If there are too many deer, ALL the deer will die. |
If you hear them talking back, you should see a doctor. |
It might be time to lay off the 'shrooms. |
|
I don't mind at all, except that I worry about shooting accidents.
Deer are spreaders of ticks that cause Lyme disease, OP. You don't want a deer overpopulation near you. Deer are a major cause of accidents. Two of my husband's colleagues were nearly killed by deer collisions at dusk. I love animals. But there's a limit. |
| It’s about time. |
Yes but there are fewer deer than 5 years ago when they started planning. The issue is not insufficient food. County staff plant native saplings and deer being indigenous like them. I prefer deer. Arlington trees routinely fall on power lines. Team Deer. |
| They do this every year. They keep the population stable this way. Nothing new. |
How many people have been shot in the past? |
Nobody knows. |
