| What schools have predominately full time, working moms? I assume the percentage increases as kids get older but interested in schools where having a full time, working mom would be the norm in elementary school. |
| We are at one of the all girls schools, and it seems like most of the moms work at high-level jobs. |
| At a TT all boys school. same impression. Lots of the moms are high achievers. |
| I think the majority of moms at most schools work. Yes, lots of very driven women with kids in private. |
| TT and if I had to guess it is 90/10 working vs SAHM in my kid's grades. |
| Honestly nowadays I think SAHMs are mostly a wealthy suburb thing, I haven’t encountered many in NYC at public or private but it feels like half of Fairfield County is non-working moms. |
| Same here. Co-ed TT mom here. Most moms are highly driven superwoman type moms. I think I know maybe 4 SAHMs from my kids TT. |
| Do movie stars count as working moms? |
|
I think you will find a lot of working moms at most of the TT schools. We are at a co-ed TT and most of the moms I know have jobs.
FWIW, and this is obviously just one anecdote, but I know several SAHMs socially who have kids at Sacred Heart and Saint David's. I am sure that there are plenty of moms who have jobs at those schools too though! |
| Sacred Heart and St. David's both have a lot of SAHMs...many of them attended STMPG for preschool |
| To afford tuition chances are both parents are working |
We must know the same moms. (Kidding!) |
|
On the other hand, some of my colleagues (working moms) have got kids in Sacred Heath and St. David’s.
I agree the percentage of working moms is probably similar across NYC private schools. I do not think there are any particular standouts in either direction. |
| … Sacred Heart… (correction to the post above). |
| The current economy and inflation will also make it more rare for SAHMs in general |
