| What are you using for birth control in your 40s? |
| I had a Mirena IUD from 40-46. After that, my dictionary wouldn't give me another one, so I just hoped for the best. I'm 53, and that strategy worked. Your results may vary. |
| Doctor, not dictionary. Wtf autocorrect? |
| I am 43F and have been using BC to stop bleeding from my period. It is helpful but hormonal shift is messy. |
| Doesn't your husband have a vasectomy at this point?! |
| I’m 51. Just regular BCP. Nothing different. |
Mine won't get a vasectomy and I don't want to be on BC anymore so we use condoms. |
Sane, but 50. |
Did your doctor get a reason? Millions of a women have IUDs well into their 50s. |
| I’m 49 and we have used condoms since I stopped the pill at 35 to get pregnant. DH wants a vasectomy but getting him to schedule it is a different story. I had zero interest in an IUD. |
| I had my tubes removed AND my husband got a vasectomy. |
| I had a postpartum tubal salpingectomy after I had my last kid at 38. The women in my family have a history of late menopause and great fertility into their 40s, so I didn't want to take any chances. |
condoms, ewww |
|
I had a non hormonal copper IUD until around 50, when it was time to remove it. I used IUDs from age 22 on. Birth control pills gave me bad side effects and I didn't care about fertility.
Gyn told me she never heard of anyone getting pregnant over 50 with estrogen as low as mine (tested) without fertility intervention. So I switched to cintraceptive gel for 8 years until menopause. |
| I take Slynd. |
