What time does your Gonzaga student get home each day?

Just a random question about Gonzaga. My DC was wondering what time most kids get home from school each day if you don't have a sports practice. We live in NW DC. He is comparing the different schools and commute times.

Pretty easy to figure out. How long does it take to get from the nearest Metro station to your house in NWDC?

It takes 10 mins. to get to Union Station. The Red line trains run every 10 mins and the trip is about 20 mins.

My DS just walked in the door at 6:05 p.m. after sports practice.

"Most kids" don't live in NW DC so why compare other kids' commute times? We live in Vienna, do you want to know my kid's commute?

You do realize NWDC is a big quadrant, right? Commute times may vary depending on which part you're coming from.

Someone coming from Palisades may have a longer commute than someone that lives near the Van Ness Metro.

Why’s everyone so prickly here? It was a question. If you don’t want to answer it, don’t!

DS gets a ride home with a friend this year. On days he doesn’t have sports practices or a club, he gets home at around 3. Freshman year, he took the metro home, and on days without practice, he usually got home at about 3:30-4. But, he would meet up with a group of friends to walk to the metro, get something to eat at Union Station, etc. The walk from the metro to our house is also about 10 minutes.

It's because commuting from Vienna to Gonzaga every day puts you in a bad mood.

Well dang. My kid didn’t get home until about 4:25. His MARC train arrived at 4:12 IIRC. He’s a sophomore in college now, though, so my memory fades. It was certainly between 4:15-4:30.

Wow weird responses. Gonzaga parents are either really salty or started drinking early on this long weekend.

Marc train or metro to NoBe gets our son home 3-4pm with on days off without clubs or practices. More like 7-8pm during his sports seasons. Teachers have office hours during final period which are very helpful.

We live in NW DC. Our kid takes the bus & metro to and from Gonzaga. It’s about an hour each way, so he gets home at around 3:30pm if he doesn’t have sports practice. But Google Maps will give you better and more relevant estimates of travel times than anyone on here.
