Hi, I have and always have had very very sensitive skin.
For the past five years I have used a skincare brand that consisted of a face wash, mild alcohol-free toner, moisturizer, Vitamin C serum, eye cream and sunscreen that have made my skin look great w/o any irritation. Unfortunately this brand looks to be going under so am in search of a new skincare brand. My skin is again, extremely sensitive and is slightly oily as well as mature. I would prefer a system which include a cleanser, preferably a mild toner though not necessary, a moisturizer, a serum and a good eye cream. The skincare system I currently am using is clean and vegan which may or may not have anything to do with the lack of irritation of my skin. I would love any recommendations of yours! |
| La Roche-Posay is the leading brand in the sensitive skin market. I highly recommend it. Their Toleriane line is for the most sensitive skins. |
|
I second the PP's recommendation for the Toleriane line of La Roche-Posay.
CeraVe is also good for sensitive skin. |
Where do you get this? |
Amazon |
| Mustela bc they make sensitive skin products for babies. I like their very sensitive line |
I've seen it at CVS and Walgreens too. |
|
Do you know what ingredients you tend to react to? Does everything have to be from the same brand?
I have very sensitive skin and rosacea. I use CeraVe cleaner, Versed or Dieux moisturizer, and a few different single- or few-ingredient treatments from the Ordinary as necessary. I have also had decent luck with Caudelie (the Vino line) and StriVectin (the Super C with retinol), and terrible luck with Drunk Elephant. |
| Doctor Rogers is a great system for sensitive skin. Sounds like you are using too many products. |
| Prequel out of target is good |
| Organic Olive or Sesame oil is best. |
| I use Evan Healy and Wild Carrot products exclusively on my face. Clean, quality ingredients. |
Agree on Doctor Rogers but I don't think she's using too many products? Other than toner and eye cream, Dr. Rogers herself recommends all of the items she's using. I would cut the toner, definitely but face cleaner, vitamin c serum, moisturizer, and SPF isn't crazy. OP, check Dr. Roger's website. On her blog she has product recommendations for sensitive skin. I've used her Vitamin C serum and moisturizer and was very happy with both. As far as drugstore products, I second the recs for Toleraine line from LRP. My derm. recommended it to me, and my sister's best friend, who is a dermatology PA, also loves it. |
| Do not use toner on sensitive skin! Use LRP Toleraine cleanser and Vanicream moisturizer in the big pump container. Cerave makes a nice Vitamin C serum. Avene makes a cica-based product that calms any sensitivity/redness. |
| Oh also, do not use straight oils. They may be natural but a lot of us react to them. |
