Anyone have a recommendation for an optometrist specializing in low vision (glaucoma)?

Hi, looking for a rec for an optometrist who specializes in working with patients with low vision and glaucoma. The person we were referred to has a 1-year waitlist. NOT looking for a regular optometrist, we already have a good one and this is outside their comfort zone (and that of most regular optometrists). Maryland/DC area but willing to travel to Baltimore/NoVA. Thanks for any recommendations.

Is this for refraction for glasses? Ask if Dr. Udoff at Voorthuis Foxhall does that. He is meticulous and very patient getting it as good as it can be.

Kind of curious why you are seeing an optometrist for glaucoma instead of an ophthalmologist. My nephew has had glaucoma since he was a baby and also has low vision. Optometrists are not in his care team. They are not local so I have no recommendations. But if I were looking for treatment, I'd go to the Wilmer Eye Institute.

OP here. Yes, DH has an ophthalmologist, two actually, including one at Wilmer. He is being treated. The optometrist is to optimize his glasses (as he also has myopia and presbyopia, which were to some extent corrected by cataract surgery) bc of issues related to low contrast and I don't know what else.

Not just refraction but thanks. We've seen another optometrist at the Voorthuis in the Montgomery Mall and she's good also but the low vision expertise is apparently a niche area.
