Kind of curious why you are seeing an optometrist for glaucoma instead of an ophthalmologist. My nephew has had glaucoma since he was a baby and also has low vision. Optometrists are not in his care team. They are not local so I have no recommendations. But if I were looking for treatment, I'd go to the Wilmer Eye Institute.
OP here. Yes, DH has an ophthalmologist, two actually, including one at Wilmer. He is being treated. The optometrist is to optimize his glasses (as he also has myopia and presbyopia, which were to some extent corrected by cataract surgery) bc of issues related to low contrast and I don't know what else.
