Any other agencies increasing telework flexibilities?

Anonymous
We (mid-size federal regulators) got great news that they will be increasing telework flexibilities starting in the new year. Woo hoo! Not to our pandemic, or even pre-pandemic levels, but it’s something. And who knows if we will still continue to get sh(* on by the current administration in other ways, but this is good news for now, especially for those of us that made it through 2025 (just barely in my case).

Anyone else?

Congrats! Nothing for me or DH.

Sorry. It’s been such a grind, this is the only good news we’ve had in a while. We have not been one of their targeted agencies, but who knows what other axe they will throw at us.

do you have any more detail beyond "increasing flexibilities"? As in, will you get once a week telework? Or just what we have, which is five optional telework days per year for personal reasons, and then additional telework on occasion if you are waiting for a repair person or whatever.

Split schedules to telework in mornings/evenings and limited telework for health appointments.

No telework for us under any circumstances. No word of that changing.

I would love a split schedule - go in for the morning (I get in early), commute at lunch, and finish at home.

No, but our agency has been pretty reasonable with situational telework for medical appointments or similar. Not telework just for the sake of telework, though.

Limited increase in flexibility to ad hoc for the end of December only then it snaps back to no TW.

We already have some telework due to office space issues (don’t want to out my agency and get on someone’s radar). But I’ll say we were very heavily telework-based long before COVID. Lately I’ve been noticing people getting increased situational telework for medial appointments, religious RAs, and even just personal family issues they need to manage.

No telework, and no prospect of telework, but there now is a limited situational ability to ("hot desk") work for 1 day from site B instead of site A. Both sites belong to different offices of the same organization.

Example might be that one has a medical appointment and site B is closer to it than normal work location at site A. It still has to have written mgmt approval in advance in all cases.

Does your badge normally work at both locations? Ours doesnt so I get it that it can be more of a PITA to set up stuff like this.

Ugh. Maybe they will reevaluate . . .

Cool. Ours had not (post this administration), so this is a step in the right direction.

Right. Go in early, get your crap done, then finish up at home. Seems reasonable.
