| Is this possible? Have you done it? It’s just not a priority for him, but I wish it was. |
| Not an answer that many women here will like, but I solved it by buying DH's clothes. If he didn't have to shop, he was happy to wear most anything I bought. And I learned to buy him things that looked good, but were also things that he would wear. |
Wow very vague. You mean he's the worst dressed person at nice events? Or you don't like how he dresses around the house, walking the dog, running errands? |
|
He is who he is. You have two choices.
1) Remember this is the man you married, love him for who he is, and get over it. 2) Say, look, I know you don't really care about clothes. I actually like shopping and would be totally willing to buy your clothes and manage your wardrobe if you'd be okay with that. If he says yes, great. If he says no, see #1. |
| I'm happy to have my DH adult himself, but if you really feel like parenting your husband, just buy him clothes. |
| I started using a personal shopper. Told her my problems with him, we arranged to have him come pick me up there one day and she "happened to have" some things she thought would look great on him. He saw how much better he could look and ... convert! |
| If you figure it out, lol, let me know. |

Please define "better.'
Clothes that fit better? Better quality garments? Different garments, eg suit instead of khakis and polos to work? Suit or blazer and slacks for weddings, fancy dinners, parties? A lot can be solved by buying better quality items. I started getting DH Brooks Brothers, Lacoste, etc classics. Nice to classic sweaters. Good khakis for cold weather and good poplin slacks for summer. Nice shorts. Turtlenecks and UPF shirts. He dresses nicely because they fit and are there in the closet. |

Tell him how hot he gets you when he dresses well.
There does seem to be an epidemic of poorly dressed man-boys. You know, the ones wearing cargo shorts, ratty old college T-shirts or sports team jerseys with backwards baseball caps like Kevin Smith in CLERKS or something. A man who makes an effort to wear tailored trousers, a nice shirt -- polo or button-down or quarter zip -- complemented by coordinated shoes and a belt and socks with personality is so hot. Those who wear French cuff shirts, a natural fiber top coat or leather coat and either a flat cap or a fedora/Panama hat are the hottest ones out there. |
| Please, a fedora/panama hat is the height of fashion? |
When part of a coordinated look, yes. They're making a comeback. Do try to keep up. |
| Ultimatum. |
I keep up with fashion and if my boyfriend showed up at dinner in a fedora I would laugh and ask if we needed to hit Game Stop on the way home. Wtf. |
Does your husband call you m'lady |
You're using English words but not making any sense. Game Stop? So, you're children? Your boyfriend is a boy? Check back when you have a men. They dress better. And don't play video games. |
