| For years, I have used cotton balls and Neutrogena eye makeup remover and/or micellar water to remove mascara and eye shadow. In the last year, I’ve had a few occasions when my eyes get very irritated (puffy and peeling dry skin the next day). I think maybe now that I am 50, I need to use a much gentler method. I have tried just washing it off using Cetaphil but it doesn’t seem to work. Any ideas? Thanks! |
| Put on an oil cleanser and let it sit for a minute, then use a gentle cleanser to wash. You shouldn’t need to irritate it by wiping a lot. |

I use the blue Clinique eye makeup remover on a cotton ball, splash water on right after.
Oil gets into my eyes. |
| The elf remover recommended in another thread has been really gentle. It's seems to have some moisturizing properties. |
| I just use jojoba oil. |
| Just use plain water and a makeup eraser cloth. |
| Don't wear eye makeup? Do you need it? |
| Use a cleansing balm. My favorite is Farmacy Green Clean. |
Me too |
| my UVA dry eye specialist says baby shampoo. |

Why wouldn't you consider using just regular soap? White Dial soap, I wash my face at night.
Even better if I just take my shower at night |
Yikes! |

Just another recommendation for a cleansing balm. So much more gentle on aging skin.
Alternatively, you could use coconut oil. |
