Delay Monday?

What are your predictions for tomorrow?
I saw posts like this on the MCPS and FCPS section and wanted to hear DCPS parent's and teacher's opinions.
Although DCPS rarely closes or delays, it is the last week before winter break, there is quite some snow and the temperatures are absolutely freezing and the snow will turn into ice instead of melting.

It would be wise to delay. Give folks some extra time. There is quite a bit of ice which is very dangerous.

MCPS is on a 2hr delay, because some neighborhood roads and sidewalks are iced over, and kids wait in the dark for their buses at 6:30am. It's safer to wait for daylight so you can actually see where you're slipping!

I don't know how it looks for DC proper, though. You probably have less ice, no?

Where is the quite some snow you are talking about? We were outside all day today along with the majority of dc. If school is delayed tomorrow it will make no sense at all

Yes, I've been outside walking around for several hours today. It's fine. Don't act like a baby.

There is actually quite some ice especially in the Georgetown neighborhood.

I hate delayed school days, especially because my kid doesn't have aftercare this week so it would mean a crazy short day.

However, it's very icy out there and supposed to be cold in the morning and I am a bit worried about getting to school tomorrow. We are at the far end of the boundary from our school so it's normally a 15-20 minute walk or a 5 minute drive. But if the ice is very bad it could easily take 30+ minutes and I wouldn't want to drive because who wants to de-ice the car for a 5 minute drive on icy roads.

So I might be pro-delay?

I'm pro-delay but not because of de-icing the car. Normal people scrape the windshields the night before, OP. Then you can just enter your car in the morning and drive. The problem is walkers who don't have cars!
