Wow what a bump for being OOS. No way a VA kid with those stats getting accepted.

I think this is the MALE bump. Our our girls' school requires Ivy level stats for UVA.

Keep in mind at schools like STA or Sidwell, a 3.5 is very much equivalent to a 4.0-4.2W. It's extremely difficult to get straight As as As are much more earned. Also no APs. I would say the bump is likely more which private.

NCS has required a 3.8 for UVA each of the last 5 yeras and they have arguably the worst grade deflation of them all.

Rejected. Male with high stats and good EC’zs but OOS.

Does anyone know what percentage of ED applicants get deferred?

It is because your girls school does not meet the academic standards of UVA.

It's NCS. They send 20% to the Ivy league. They meet the standards.

Not that this means anything for this year but about 25% were deferred last year I think. About 50% rejected.

I just remember everyone was getting good news everywhere until UVA released. They ruined the party. Lol

It’s a very tough school to get into. We knew several straight A kids, high test scores, amazing activities who did not get in. Fast forward to this year, those exact kids are thriving at the college that are at now. Loving life. It all works out, just such a hard process.
